Green Furniture – ecological design made trendy

Green FurnitureGreen Furniture, also called ecological furniture, has moved up from just a mere concept to being integrated and considered a part in the construction of new buildings that experiment with space-age materials and advanced engineering. Until recently „Green interior designs” were not focused upon, but more and more friendly furniture is being designed.

The artistic movements have always been those influencing the evolution of major architectural developments over the centuries starting with the neoclassical and reaching up to the avant-garde but for many people, a chair remains just a chair and shelves are used for storing books. Practicality and budget are just two of the other aspects that are taken into account.

Yet still this new and evolving tendency for the eco-friendly furniture has been presented at the London Design Festival, where it became clear, that the new green wave has taken over furniture designers who are now receiving commissions from retailers for their designs. The emerging concept is starting to gain more and more supporters due to its affiliation with important names in the interior design business and the increasing appearance of Eco Friendly furniture, where the public eye can reach them: festivals, furniture stores and galleries.

An exciting and new exhibition of “Green models” took place earlier this week in Milan, Italy. The Ecopink show gathered the work of 20 international women artists and designers that aim to prove green and gorgeous are not excluding each other, says the organizer of the show Alessia Civettini.

One of the participating artists at the Ecopink exhibition was Swedish designer Maria Weenberg who received Sweden’s Green Furniture Award for her original piece called T-shirt Chair. This combination of intertwined metal grid and recycled t-shirts was considered by the jury as a unique way of upholstering.

With the subject gaining so much ground and the fast growing concern about pollution and waste, the Eco Friendly furniture has a green light for the future.

I really like the way you have considered this concern and it really does furnish us a lot of ammunition for consideration. However, from everything that I have observed, I simply wish as the comments stack on that folks keep on issue and not commence upon a tirade associated with the news of the moment. Anyway, thank you for your excellent coverage and although I might not fully be in harmony with this in totality, I regard your perspective.
