Mike Hussey will sue Cricket Club over development

Mike Hussey, who runs property firm Almacantar, is suing Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) over the redevelopment of said cricket ground.

MCC hired Almacantar to plan the redevelopment of Lord’s cricket grounds. This redevelopment would have seen the cricket grounds expand from 29,000 to 37,000 seats. However, after months worth of plans and an estimated £750,000 spend by the company, MCC decided not go to ahead with the redevelopment. The project was said to be worth £400m. Their reason for the halt was due to the current financial state of the economy. It has also been reported that in order to fund this redevelopment, MCC were prepared to sell luxury flats in the nearby vicinity, but eventually decided against it. Therefore Mr Hussey has asked MCC to recover lost costs in regards to this project. Read more of this post
